- Icy Sedgwick
- Icy Sedgwick was born in the North East of England, and is based in Newcastle. She has been writing with a view to doing so professionally for over ten years, and has had several stories included in anthologies. She currently contributes regular articles to Write Anything and Fuel Your Writing, and spends her non-writing time working on a PhD in Film Studies. Icy also spends her time gallivanting around the North East as a blogger and researcher for a paranormal investigations company. Icy has just had her first book, a Western named The Guns of Retribution, published through Pulp Press.
The Guns of Retribution
The search for a murderous outlaw has brought the long roving Grey O’Donnell near to his hometown of Retribution, Arizona. Bounty hunters ain’t popular but old fashioned manners, kindness to regular folk and a face for the ladies make Grey an exception round these parts; and a six gun’ll take care of the rest. Anyway, Grey has a job to do elsewhere. But, the odious Jasper Roberts has made himself Sheriff of Retribution and he has a score to settle with Grey. Jasper ain’t gonna let morals or the law get in the way of a good hanging and the townsfolk are cowed by their villainous lawman. Can you really mess with a man’s momma and get away with it? Sometimes there is more than one bullet with your name on it.

Very cool. Interesting idea that eating the brain provides images and memories of the victim.
Ooo very creepy. The main Character sort of repels me and yet I like him too. Cool idea to eat the memories of one attacker to find the other.

Zombie Avenger, best friend or nemesis of the Toxic Avenger? Either way the ghostly crimefighter with "dead weight" behind its fists is very amusing for me. Maybe "Dead Weight" could be the name of a sidekick?

Nice. Great language. Great pacing. I dig the zombie superhero idea. And the whole eating a part of the brain and being able to see what the attacker saw throughout his day is pretty genius.
Zombie superheroes? What's next Zombie heartthrobs? I do believe you could pull it off!

Fantastic. What I love about this flash is the twists on the premise you added. The opening seems to mix the idea of ghosts with zombies, which was a nice touch. However, I loved the reason why she eats the zombie at the end.
Aidan - I don't follow...why WHO eats the zombie at the end? No one eats the zombie.

Hi there Icy -- I loved his being buried in his Superman stuff, lumbering into 'attack position' and the rather chilling 'brain reading'. While I sometimes wonder how the 'sneakers of good' cannot outrun the 'shambling of evil', in this case I can see how this dude might not be stopped. Great reading something from the Z-perspective. Writing with brrrraaaains...
